Poor performance of image sync with Genesys

MEX002 has approximately 40,202 images of 17,305 accessions in Genesys. See images of CIMMYT accessions in Genesys.

In #574 (closed) @jmsanchez reports that the Processing step took 18 hours (!) The performance of this operation needs to be drastically improved.

And this step is the one that really needs to be much faster than it is today.

To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information
