Inheriting results of Viability testing
@1cgiar/all I talked to an expert on seed longevity about the results of viability testing.
"Sharing" the results of a test
Fiona says:
- The results are applicable only to the inventory actually tested.
- But: curators should be able to access the results of test of sibling inventories and draw their own conclusions.
This means that we should not copy the results of one inventory to others of the same generation.
Outcome of the test
The InventoryViability
currently does not capture the outcome of the test. The outcome of the test is one of:
- The test was
INCONCLUSIVE
and probably needs to be repeated (as a completely new test).percentViable
does not have a value (isnull
). - Data across replicates is within allowed error margins and is
VALID
. ThepercentViable
has a value. -
null
value means test results are not yet ready.
(Here you could also introduce ESTIMATED
for those that want to copy test results across inventories)
